Starting on April 1st, The Farmhouse will start working with OpenTable’s partner BrainTree in order to take, in a secure and PCI compliant manner, credit card information for any parties of 10 or more, as well as for any reservation, regardless of the number of guests, on: Valentines Day, Easter, Mothers Day, Fathers’ Day and New Years Eve.
Our goal is to provide guests the best quality food, beverage and service during their visit, and we have sadly seen an increase in the number of “No Shows” (reservations that are made and not honored without giving a call to notify us of a need to cancel the reservation). These “No Shows” mean that we are holding tables for guests and thus unable to move along with our pacing of other reservations and walk-ins, for parties that did not show up. This trend has damaged the perception of our quality of service, and so we will join other restaurants in the area and start charging a “No Show” fee of $25.00. This fee will be applied to any party that does not cancel their reservation (either by logging into their OT account or by giving us a call and speaking with someone directly) with at least 24 hrs advance notice. There will be no fees charged for guests who honor their reservation or cancel with 24 hrs advance notice.
Why are you doing this? We have seen an increasing number of guests who have made reservations with us (and other restaurants) and then either have to cancel or decide to go to another restaurant, without notifying us in advance for their need to cancel their reservation with us. Thus, other guests have been unable to make a reservation because we have been fully-booked, or our walk-in guests have been unable to be seated because we are still honoring those tables for guests who will not be showing up. Additionally, holding tables for reservations who “No Show” directly affect our server’s tips, as well as the restaurant’s flow. We hope this will deter those guests who were not serious about joining us to begin with or those who did not give us proper notice, from taking away seating from guests like you, who want to join us and dine with us, but we’re at full capacity.
How do I cancel a reservation? You can cancel your reservation via OpenTable by logging into your account, and making changes through your upcoming reservations. You can also cancel your reservation by calling us with at least 24 hours notice at (816) 569-6032 and speaking with someone directly. Please be sure to speak with someone over the phone, and do not leave a voicemail as we don’t get to check our voicemail daily. Please remember: We do close at 3:00 Sunday, Monday & Tuesday.
Will I be charged $25.00 every time I make a reservation? Not at all!! We will only take CC information for any party of 10 or more guests, and for any reservation (regardless of the size) on the five holidays above. You will not be charged any fee just because you made a reservation! Also, if you cancel your reservation with due notice (24 hours in advance) either by logging into your OpenTable account, or by giving us a call, we will not charge you any fee. The fees will apply for those “No Show” parties who straight-out do not show up or who do not cancel their reservation with at least 24 hours advance notice.
Ultimately, our goal is to ensure the best service possible for you, whether you are joining us with a planned reservation or impromptu as a walk-in. We do not want your experience at The Farmhouse to be negatively affected because of a 3rd party.
