FAQ #3: Um, do you have parking?? Where can I park??

This entry is part 4 of 4 in the series FAQ

Wonder no more! There are plenty parking options within blocks from The Farmhouse!

River Market Parking FH

We get it, if you’re not familiar with the River Market, knowing where to park may be confusing, specially if you are not familiar with the Streetcar!

Luckily there are plenty parking spots and parking lots withing walking distance, and we are here to help you find them! Our friends at Visit KC created this handy little map detailing the parking lots in the area (Grayed out with the “P” sign in them) and the number of parking spots available in each parking lot. As you can see, there are about 875 spots available in the parking lots located no more than 4 blocks from The Farmhouse, plus don’t forget about street parking!

Parallel Street Parking

You can find plenty of parallel street parking along Wyandotte Street, 5th Street, and 3rd Street.  Also, keep in mind that from Delaware St to Grand Street, between 3rd Street and 5th Street, you will need to park all of your vehicle within the white lines, in order to not block the street car’s path.  You can find more info on the KC Streetcar website.

Reverse-Angled Parking

You can also find parking on Delaware Street! Delaware Street is a one way street going from North to South, and has reverse-angled parking to ensure drivers will be able to see oncoming traffic as well as an oncoming streetcar.  If you are unsure as to how to park on Delaware Street, check out this handy video!

Please be aware of time limits (if any) set for the block you have parked, and unless you have the proper permits/plates, please do not park on the spots designated for our handicapped guests!

See you soon!!

FAQ# 2: What is that room in the back??

This entry is part 3 of 4 in the series FAQ

Answer: It’s “The Chef’s Room” !!!

IMG_0089

We’ve had the joy of serving our guests at The Chef’s Room for over a year now, and we are looking forward to serving YOU!!

A few things about The Chef’s Room:

  1. There is NO room rental for the Chef’s Room! (Woo hoo!).  It is however available only during our business hours, with a  surprise catered menu, and reserved only once per shift.  Also to note is that we do require at least a one-week in advance reservation.
  2. It seats up to 8 (eight) guests. Though do not feel that it has to be 8 guests in order to reserve! We’ve had couples celebrating their anniversary; families celebrating birthdays, work/board meetings, graduation parties, bachelor/ette parties, retirement parties, etc…
  3. At The Chef’s Room,  you’ll be served a special, surprise, catered menu. You let us know of dietary restrictions or allergies, how many courses you would like, and any preferred/disliked items. With that information,  Chef Foust will prepare a surprise menu planned and prepared just for you and your guests!!
  4. Would you like to add a suggested pairing? Perhaps with a wonderful glass of wine? Or a beer? How about one of our delicious specialty and craft cocktails? We can def. do that!! Let us know of your preference, and we’ll add it to the menu.
  5. Want to know more? Perhaps even go ahead and book it? Then contact us at: Events@EatAtTheFarmhouse.com!

FAQ # 1: What is THAT??

This entry is part 1 of 4 in the series FAQ

Answer:  This, is house-made ketchup!!

20150917_143843 If we are giving you the freshest ingredients… wouldn’t it make sense that EVERYTHING in your plate is freshly made??

We think so!!

So that little ramekin of red goodness on the side of your sandwich, your steak, or just right next to your fries… is fresh, house-made ketchup!!  No preservatives, no corn-syrup, no MSG added to it… just tomatoes and spices.  And a lot of patience from our dear Drew who spends about 4 hours each time cooking it!  When it finally cools down, we are ready to serve it to you!

Now you know!
