Happy Thanksgiving Kansas City!

We are incredibly thankful for all of our staff members, our guests, our neighbors, and of course, our hard working farmers. The Farmhouse would not be able to exist without all of you. Thank you for making our service possible by supporting us day in and day out. Let’s continue keeping it farm to table, tip to tail, seasonal, & local.

Thank you!!!

Let’s welcome autumn with a new menu!

Hello autumn!

With the changes in season, most of the farmers market will be closing within the next few weeks, leaving our farmers without that extra little income and exposure to their goods and who they are. Fear not! We will continue to support them by creating delicious specials, using their delicious seasonal crops so they can keep on going through the colder months.

To welcome the new season, and to continue supporting our beloved farmers, we have debuted our new menu!  Our lunch menu debuted on Monday, September 22nd and on Wednesday September 24th we will debut our new dinner menu.  Come and join us!  Enjoy with us the delicious fall bounty!

Serve you soon!

All Aboard!! Our last KC Streetcar Happy Hour is this Friday!

Four down, one to go!  Join us this Friday the 29th to celebrate the River Market and the upcoming KC Streetcar!!  What makes the River Market so unique? Is it the local shops? the City Market? The trails? The Farmhouse? (hint, hint!) Bring a photo that shows what makes it a great neighborhood for a chance to win a $10 gift certificate!  See you soon!!

Midcoast Roots Thursdays at The Farmhouse!

We’re excited to announce a new music series here at The Farmhouse — Midcoast Roots Thursdays! During our Thursday dinner service, starting at 6:00 p.m., we’ll be showcasing a different local musician or band playing music that hearkens to our roots.  Americana, folk, country&western, blues, internationally-influenced — all those things which jive so beautifully with our own aesthetic.

For the month of August, we’ll have:

Live Music This Thursday at The Farmhouse!

Live music returns to The Farmhouse this week, in the form of songwriter/performer Mike Astrachan!  His tunes dip into the areas of Americana, Country, Folk, Pop, Inspirational, and Gospel — a great accompaniment to your dinner of locally-sourced, seasonal comfort foods.  Come on by Thursday evening and help us welcome Mike to the Farmhouse family; his set begins at 6:00!

The Farmhouse sponsors…

The Farmhouse is pleased to be a sponsor for WordCamp KC, coming right up this weekend at the beautiful Kauffman Foundation Conference Center.  We hope that aaaaaaaaall the Campers will venture north to our River Market neighborhood to stuff their bellies with some seriously local, seasonal, creative food while they’re stuffing their brains with good info at Camp!  #WCKC2014

We’re also a proud “lane sponsor” of SocialHeart’s Breakfast Bowl event at Z-Strike in the Power & Light District this Saturday, July 12, benefiting Urban Growth KC!

In the Spring of 2010, Urban Growth began growing their our own local produce to donate to charities around the Kansas City Area. Wanting to provide only organic, local, chemical-free, non-GMO, and super fresh produce, UGKC have gone on to develop two urban farm spaces where all of our fresh produce is grown. With our growth, we provide hundreds of servings of fresh produce each season that is all grown from seed, cultivated by our volunteer farm staff, harvested fresh and then donated to our pantry partners within 48 hours. It doesn’t get much fresher than that!

As a restaurant focused on feeding the best food to our community, and helping our local growers earn a respectable living, we’re glad to be a part of this event.  #SocialHeart

Happy Independence Day!

The Farmhouse will be closed on Friday, July 4, in celebration of Independence Day.  Here’s to honoring our great country’s past, present, and future;
enjoying backyard barbecues and picnics with friends;
and soaking up some of those summertime rays by the water!

We’ll see you at 9:00 a.m. for that post-celebration recovery brunch
on Saturday, July 5 — until then, be safe and be well, friends!

🙂
