The Farmhouse through your lens #3

Another week, another set of photos from our guests! Did your photo make it to our list this week?

The Blood of The Poet

BParigo joined us on our patio and took this wonderful photo of our “Blood of the Poet” cocktail. We just loved the vibrant colors captured, which are making our mouths water. Thank you so much for joining us!

A Corgi Named Beagle

After two real life woofers, we got a #TravelBea! This sweet and cute little doggie seems to be the one going places where Beagle can’t go in.  Hey sweet Beagle! You are more than welcomed in our patio!! (Yes! Our patio is leashed-pup friendly!). Maybe next time this sweet pupper can join us for brunch alongside TravelBea and their humans!

Is it a Streetcar? Is it a car? It’s a bike!!

There are so many ways to get to The Farmhouse! You can walk of course, take the streetcar, drive, or bike! There are 3 bike-share stations within less than 4 minute walk from our front door! (Park & Ride parking lot on 3rd & Grand, Wyandotte & 4th,  plus Delaware & 4th where this picture was taken!)

Carrot Gold

Instagram user Conebbs snapped a photo of the outside of our restaurant when attending KC Healthy Kids, Carrot Gold progressive dinner. We love partnering and working for events that help our farmers stay in business and bring more farm-fresh goodness to our tables, specially kids’ tables!!  We thank you Conebbs for joining us! We couldn’t do what we do without you!!

The Farmhouse through YOUR lens: Sep 28-Oct 4, 2017

We say it time, and time again! We LOVE seeing YOUR pictures!! We’re always looking at photos guests tag of us, whether on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter.  This time, I decided to start a little project and instead of doing a #TBT  I’ll start sharing your photos on our website!  What is it about The Farmhouse that makes you want to snap a shot? Is it our food? A delicious cocktail? Perhaps our decor? Maybe it is a great moment with family and friends!

I always find it fascinating to see what photos our guests end up sharing on social media when they visit with us. I will try to share with you every week 7 photos/posts that guests have taken while visiting us.  These will be in no specific order, it could be a photo with 500 likes, or not even one… perhaps it is a food about a cocktail or a painting, or a dog… could be from either social media source, an event… you get the idea! If it was a public post, tagged, or checked in, we look forward to share it with guests!  Of course, we’ll contact you before posting a photo of a face to make sure you’re ok with that.  There will be no specific order, just awesome photos taken by you, our guest. We want to see and share what you see through your lens!!

“The Farmhouse sets gold standard in River Market”

Are you familiar with KC Healthy Kids? No? Well, we think it’s time for you to check them out! Since 2005 they have work tirelessly to improve access to affordable fresh food and safe places to walk and play. When our neighborhoods support healthy habits, we are less likely to suffer from obesity, which is linked to Type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and poor mental health. They are helping KC shape policies that improve our food system and physical surroundings, and, ultimately, the places where we live, work, learn, and play. And you know what? What better time to start than right now, when we’re kids so that when we grow up, we already have these wonderful habits and resources at our disposal?

One of the new initiatives from KCHK is Carrot Gold, which is setting the standard for excellence in food service. This customizable program lets restaurants like ours alongside grocers, hospitals, colleges and corporations move toward an ideal operating standards in three categories: local food sourcing, sustainable kitchen practices and healthy eating.

We’re very proud to be featured in one of their articles about our commitment and work with their Carrot Gold Standard!

We’ll be closed on Memorial Day

In observance of the holiday, we close our doors every Memorial Day & remember that it is thanks to the brave men & women who have sacrificed so much for this country, that everyone at home is able to do what they do. We thank them all, & remember the fallen.

We’ll reopen for service on Tuesday at 11am for a delicious lunch.
